David Jean

Was born in Toronto, Canada to immigrant parents. Being largely self-taught, he demonstrates his technical prowess and versatility in a wide variety of artistic categories. All his paintings are done freehand, brush to canvas, without preliminary pencil drawings or mechanical assistance. In celebration of the millennium, David was commissioned to create an image of Pope John Paul II, an original oil on canvas painting of the “Pope and Child” currently hanging in the Vatican. Since 1975, his works have been widely exhibited in Canada and the United States, as his paintings and lithographs complement numerous notable collections worldwide.
